Sarasota County Commissioners have approved a significant road infrastructure agreement to support the development of Hi Hat Ranch, a large-scale residential project east of Interstate 75. The deal includes Hi Hat Ranch donating 10 to 17 acres of land along Fruitville Road, valued at approximately $3.6 million, to facilitate future road widening. Additionally, the developer will share the $28 million cost of widening Bee Ridge Road with the county and fully fund a $1 million expansion of the Lorraine Road roundabout. Hi Hat Ranch is also responsible for constructing a new road extending Bee Ridge Road to the planned residential village. In total, the developer’s commitments amount to about $18.6 million.
