The two new overpasses for the Legacy Trail in Sarasota are set to kick-off! The Bee Ridge Rd. overpass construction is set to begin on November 13, and not far behind, the Clark Rd. overpass will commence on December 13. Residents can look forward to the completion of these pivotal projects by October 2024. For those curious about the technical side, the overpasses will span 12 feet in width. The design of the Clark Rd. will also eventually straighten the McIntosh Road intersection at Clark Road. While funds for this subsequent project are currently unavailable, it’s worth noting that when this intersection alteration does happen, trail users will have a new crossing point right after the overpass.
